Biography
Zory is a visual artist based in Greater London. She has exhibited her work widely with solo and collective shows, participating with Louise Bourgeois, Kara Walker and Anthony Gromley in Sanctuary, Contemporary Art & Human Rights, a collective exhibition at the Gallery of Modern Art in Glasgow. Zory has presented two major solo exhibitions: Mass Hollow at 198 Gallery in London (2004-05) and Waves, which was presented at the Margaret Harvey Gallery and the Norwich Art Centre during 2007.
Zory has been selected to participate in Escalator Visual Arts (a new Arts Council England initiative aimed at finding, supporting and investing in the best artistic talent from the East of England), and also Commissions East Mentoring Scheme. In 2007, Zory was given an Enter Commission at The Junction, Cambridge, and has received a ACE East ‘Grants for the Arts’ award in three opportunities (2003, 2004-05 and 2006-07).
Zory has been a workshop facilitator working with refugees and school pupils for the last five years and is currently a tutor of Oval House Education Programme. She was a founding member of Artists in Exile and sits on the Board of the Refugees and the Arts Initiative.
